May 2026
Oh yeah, you can do subtitles.
Greetings, fellow Earthlings. It's already approaching the end of May. My how time flies. As you can see above, I sold some books and candles at a really cool market called Books & Blooms. It was a blast and I had a great time getting to meet readers and talk to them about my books.
Something about getting out there in the real world with everything just makes the thing feel more tangible than the social media grind on the interwebs. Meeting fellow authors and having some time to just be in a bookish atmosphere is great as well. Can't beat it.
It was an interesting month for my writing. I decided that I will not be finishing a book that I was about halfway finished writing and fully complete on the plotting and direction. I've never done that before, but I think it’s the right decision.
This book was a little too close to home and I think that maybe I just needed the writing time as a form of therapy to work through some things that I was going through. I'm grateful for the time I spent working on it because it did give me a lot of peace when I was in desperate need of some.
I have started working on another book with a concept that I am very excited about. It will be a supernatural detective-style story with a twist. Different from my usual tropes, but I like the concept I'm working with, and think I can turn it into something worth your time.
I'm also working on another weird little book that I won't get into yet and continuing the good fight of submitting short stories. Definitely in a grinding phase, but I am grateful to be in a state of mind to be writing again. You don't realize what a blessing it is until life grabs you by the cajones and all your mental space has to go to just making it through survival mode.
It's important to remember that life is always happening in seasons. We usually only see people's wins and high points on social media or elsewhere online. Not every season is flashy and fun but the journey is worth enjoying.
You can't appreciate the good times without the bad, the sunrise without the long dark night, or as my wife likes to say, no rain no flowers. On that same note sometimes it’s just more of the same. Choosing to keep taking the next step and putting one foot in front of the other.
There are times that we just have to trust the process and keep doing the next thing. It can feel like we’re juggling so many things that we aren't making progress on any of them, but when we keep at it we’re able to look back and see how far we’ve come.
So, that's all I have for this month. Thank you so much if you came out to show support at any of the events the past couple of months. They were a blast and I appreciate all the love that was shown while I did them.
Looking forward to more publishing in the future but I'm enjoying this period of just writing and enjoying the ride. I've been getting myself out there a lot more at events and on social media than before so make sure to follow along if you are not.

What is that little writing contraption you've got there? Is it easy to transfer files to the big computer?
